The design process breakdown:

The Sprint-Style website design process is one that cuts out the middle stages of the traditionally months-long website design process. When I started my career, I designed every website entirely from scratch— starting with mockups, going back-and-forth on revisions, developing the website within Showit (essentially building it out for a second time), then finally building out the mobile layouts and going through the same process once again. In my experience, both parties end up burnt out before the website is even launched, and it isn’t ideal for anyone.

With a Sprint-Style website, we skip the back and forth, and go directly to ShowIt. After designing websites for photographers for years and working with some of the best experts out there (including a copywriter, photography educator, SEO specialist, and website developer), I know exactly what a photographer’s website should consist of. I’ve done the heavy lifting for you and know what works and what doesn’t, so starting from scratch isn’t necessary. I start the design process with my expertly-designed ShowIt website templates, and the design process goes from months to days.

I don’t think that the wheel needs to be reinvented every time a website is designed, and starting from the same base in no way means that two sites will look the same. In all honesty, it’s not too much different than the “normal” design process that takes months. Because certain design principles are followed every time that I design a website (consistent margins, text sizes, layouts, etc. are important in making sure that your site feels cohesive and user friendly), I’ve pulled from common section layouts my entire career. As long as a unique mix of layouts are used, pages always feel brand new. Now, with these layouts having been pre-built out in my ShowIt templates, this means that we can skip the traditional back-and-forth and cut our time down exponentially. I design, send you the links to your page drafts, then we do all of our revisions together, live on a Zoom call, in under a couple of hours!
